Reema Kagti is considered to be one of the best working talents in Indian cinema, with a singular voice as an artist, screenwriter, and filmmaker.
Reema’s directorial debut, Honeymoon Travels Private Limited (2006), was an immediate commercial success. Following that, she wrote and directed the neo-noir Talaash (2012), and the historic sports drama, Gold (2018), both of which were highly acclaimed by audiences and critics alike. In addition to directing, Reema has co-written the screenplays for huge commercial successes such as Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011), Dil Dhadakne Do (2015), and Gully Boy (2019), as well as the highly acclaimed series, Made in Heaven (2019), for Amazon Prime Video.
Reema’s ‘Dahaad’ received widespread love and appreciation, after making global waves at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2023. ‘Dahaad’ was the first ever Indian web series to premiere at the festival, where it was nominated for the Berlinale Series Award. With her latest venture, Tiger Baby, Reema has extended her role to that of Producer – with Made in Heaven (2019), Eternally Confused and Eager for Love (2022), Dahaad (2023), The Archies (2023) and Kho Gaye Hum Kahan (2023) already under her belt.
Reema’s upcoming directorial venture is ‘Supermen Of Malegaon,’ a film based on the life of an ambitious amateur filmmaker from a small town in Maharashtra. The film is set to release later this year.
Reema went on to direct her second film, “Talaash” which released on 30th November 2012 and became a hit at the box office. It features Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukerji in lead roles.
She has co-written the scripts for “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara” and the feature film of Zoya Akhtar “Dil Dhadakne Do”. She was also the second unit director on “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.” Her next venture GOLD with Akshay Kumar in the lead, received a great response at the box office crossing the 100Cr mark and was well received by the audience.
She has co-written Made in Heaven with Zoya Akhtar and Alankrita Shrivastava. Her latest work entails co-directing a web series titled Dahaad with Sonakshi Sinha, Vijay Varma, Gulshan Devaiah and Sohum Shah amongst the leads.
